A Guatemalan girl who fell in love with Taiwan.
Camila Sáenz is the founder of TUTEEMI. TUTEEMI is a platform dedicated to connecting foreign language tutors with Taiwanese students. After high school, Camila left Guatemala and moved to Asia. She holds an MBA and a PhD in business from the National Taipei University of Technology. She has also shared her experience in three TEDx talks, Google and Amazon. TUTEEMI has been part of well-known accelerator programs such as 500 Global and AppWorks.
Having traveled to more than 60 countries and speaking Spanish, English, and Mandarin Chinese, Camila has experienced firsthand how learning languages can open doors to new opportunities, cultures, and connections. Inspired by the impact language skills had on her own life and career, she founded TUTEEMI to help others access high-quality language education while creating meaningful income opportunities for foreign tutors around in Taiwan As a popular English and Spanish tutor, she realized the need for a platform like TUTEEMI that could not only provide high-quality language education but also provide foreign tutors with a stable income.
TUTEEMI is committed to promoting global citizenship by making language learning more accessible. TUTEEMI has served hundreds of students in Taiwan and continues to expand its reach to other countries. TUTEEMI is more than a company, it is a community dedicated to serving learners and educators. TUTEEMI's Story
Originally known as Key Tutors, TUTEEMI rebranded before winning the Dragon's Chamber pitch competition in Taipei, launching an MVP that attracted over 50 tutor applications.
TUTEEMI joins AppWorks, one of Asia's largest accelerators. When COVID hit, most classes had to pause or shift online.
TUTEEMI joins 500 Global, one of the world's leading accelerators. TUTEEMI is now offering a hybrid model of online and offline tutoring.
TUTEEMI has online students in Guatemala, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.
TUTEEMI expands to over 100 tutors based in Taiwan. Many parents are eager to reduce their children's screen time. TUTEEMI also acquired PTT (Private Tutor Taiwan).
TUTEEMI serves students in most Taiwanese cities and other countries online, offering tutoring in different languages both online and in person.
TUTEEMI hits 150 language tutors and also starts expanding to other classes beyond language learning like piano, art and even yoga at home!
TUTEEMI serves learners of all ages, from young children as young as 3 to adults in their 70s. As a fully remote company, our team is spread across the globe, with members based in countries including Indonesia, Germany, Palau, and beyond.
